Leverage Janusseal Documents Classifications in NC Protect’s Dynamic Policies
Unique among data classification solutions, Janusnet simplifies classification in complex multi-jurisdictional environments with differing requirements by adding both visible and metadata markings to unstructured data according to organisation policy. Janusnet’s data classification solutions enforce the consistent embedding of metadata with human-readable markings across a broad range of file types. The classification metadata identifies a file’s sensitivity, handling restrictions, export controls, and codewords.
When combined with user and endpoint information, a file’s classification metadata enables NC Protect to seamlessly apply attribute-based access controls (ABAC) to prevent unauthorized access to information on a per-file basis as well as apply unique data protection capabilities including dynamic watermarks, CUI designation indicator labels, secure-read only access, and more.
The Janusseal integration is part of NC Protect’s ‘bring your own classification’ model which allows customers to use NC Protect’s classification engine or leverage existing classifications as one of the attributes used by the product’s dynamic ABAC policies. The ABAC model evaluates attributes including document, user and environment values against defined policies to control who can access information and under what conditions. NC Protect supports fine-grain ABAC-enabled access and data protection capabilities across Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint on-premises and file shares.
