Letter from the CEO on Nucleus Cyber’s Acquisition of Security Sheriff

by | Oct 15, 2018

I’m pleased to announce that Nucleus Cyber has acquired the assets and technology of Security Sheriff from Cyxtera Technologies. The company will be headquartered in Boston with offices in Australia.

You may recall, I was the CEO of HiSoftware, the original corporate entity that developed Security Sheriff. Today, the data security and governance market has moved to the forefront as organizations look to increase levels of collaboration across the intelligent workplace. Although a significant component of the security market is focused on keeping threats and breaches out of the enterprise, there is increasingly a large gap as sensitive and confidential content moves inside an organization and to trusted third parties.

The evolution of cloud and intelligent workplaces have changed the way enterprises store and share information, but the resulting lower costs and improved collaboration has come with a price. Increased risk of exposure and internal misuse of sensitive information, rogue environments, cyberespionage and human error are crippling effectiveness and productivity. Close to 80% of all businesses experience rogue clouds, and 40% have confidential data exposed there.

We created Nucleus Cyber to ensure that AI-driven security is at the core of the intelligent workplace. Our goal at Nucleus Cyber is to support our customers and partners with effective, intelligent security that minimizes data loss and misuse across your entire organization. We will continue to leverage and enhance existing Microsoft and other infrastructure investments with our product’s unmatched and sophisticated capabilities while maintaining a simple and intuitive user experience.

We will strive to be the most responsive partner you work with to help safeguard all your data. In fact, to create the smoothest transition possible, we are pleased to share that we have retained 100% of the product development and customer support teams, as well as investing in strategic new hires to continue to deliver innovative products and services.

The executive team has worked together since the early-2000’s across half a dozen successful global companies. Leigh Rowland, one of the original creators and developers of Security Sheriff, is our CTO and plans to drive the technology with an aggressive roadmap and integration plan. Irena Mroz a 20+ year cybersecurity marketer joins us as Vice President of Marketing, and Rob Bunn will be our CFO / COO.
We have a number of exciting announcements including new executive hires, alliance and partnerships and product releases planned in the next few months.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to making Nucleus Cyber the standard for AI-driven security in the intelligent workplace.
