Service Orchestration & Automation: How It Works

Install Trusted Data Integration (TDI) on your server

Install TDI with a simple helm install command. All you need for a basic installation is a PostgreSQL database and a Kubernetes cluster.

Create your containers or choose from TDI Apps

Do you need to create or integrate your own containers? Create your custom containers in the simplest way by using Go, Java, Node, Python, or any language. Use JSON for the data structure and an HTTP(S) listener for transport. Or find your appropriate container in TDI Apps.

Define the flow in YAML or in UI builder

Express all workflow states, transitions, evaluations, and actions needed to complete the workflow by using YAML or UI builder. The configuration of the workflow components has never been so simple.

Run the workflow

Run your workflow and track progress easily. TDI will listen for CloudEvents, execute the workflow states and run your containers as extensions to the workflow.

TDI FAQs

Is TDI an automation engine like Ansible?

Yes, but it’s also a workflow engine and code agnostic. To our clients this means no re- training and lower cost (it can actually run Ansible!)

Is TDI a workflow engine like AWS Step Functions?

Yes, but it is provider agnostic with all the features in one platform. To our clients this means that they are not tied to a specific cloud provider’s solution.

Is TDI a message bus like Kafka or Web Sphere?

No, it’s an engine and uses messages busses for input/output.

Is TDI a batch processing platform like BMC Control-M or Tidal?

Yes, and TDI allows clients to use existing code without change.

How does TDI compare to ETL?

TDI does not provide internal data mapping transformation tools, however TDI could be the engine for ETL data flows.

Is TDI a PaaS or API platform like MuleSoft?

No, however TDI exposes all workload executions as API calls to PasS and API management platforms.
