Collaboration in Action: Celebrating 115 Years of Women Driving Change
This Sunday, March 8th, marks 115 years of celebrating International Women’s Day. Started in March of 1911, it is a global movement that recognizes the remarkable achievements of women in social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. This year’s theme, ‘Give to Gain’, emphasizes the power of generosity and collaboration, resonating deeply with our company culture and values.
In the spirit of giving, the talented women at archTIS are sharing their insights and experiences as women in tech to inspire others who are considering careers in technology. By discussing their experiences and challenges, they highlight the diverse opportunities in the field and encourage aspiring individuals to embrace resilience and innovation.

Why is it important to you to be a woman in tech?
For me, being a woman in tech is about proving — to myself and others — that we belong in every room where decisions are being made. I see a lot of men sitting at the tech table, less women. Having women’s perspectives helps shape decisions, processes, and customer outcomes in a way that is both necessary and important. Every time a woman leads, influences strategy, or drives innovation, it subtly rewrites the narrative. Technology drives business, security, education, healthcare — nearly every sector. Women deserve a voice in shaping those outcomes.
What advice would you give young women considering a career in tech?
My advice to young women is this: don’t interpret discomfort as a sign you don’t belong. Growth often feels uncomfortable. You will not know everything — no one does — but you are capable of learning it. Confidence isn’t something you’re handed; it’s something you build by doing hard things anyway. Find people who will advocate for you. Ask questions even when you’re worried they sound basic. Take on challenges that stretch you. And remember that your perspective — the way you think, communicate, and lead — is not something to minimize. It’s your advantage.
What made you choose the tech industry as a career path?
It wasn’t intentional in my journey. I started my career in the Online Program Managers (OPMs) space, working with different academic partners and programs. It introduced me to different client partnership experiences where I both helped achieve optimal results and also really enjoyed working with customers to help them be successful. I am probably aging myself by saying so, but customer success wasn’t a profession when I started working, and my first job in tech in 2015 was my introduction to the intersection of tech + client services. I like helping people see a return on their investment and realize the value of the service(s) that the tech provides.
Why is it important for companies to invest in women to accelerate progress?
It’s important for companies to invest in women because progress doesn’t happen by accident — it happens by intention. Talent is not evenly distributed. Neither is opportunity. Diverse leadership teams make better decisions, build better products, and understand customers more deeply. On a personal level, I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone advocates for you, challenges you, and opens a door for you. Sometimes the door was opened for me. Other times, I plowed through it from sheer force of will and determination. Investment builds confidence. Confidence builds leaders. And leaders shape outcomes.
